The annual CLL Fun Day will be held on Saturday, July 10th. The group will paddle the large voyageur replica canoes from Gotham to Muscoda. The trip will include a sand bar stop and possibly a stop at the Twin Lizard (Bloyer) mound group. Participants should meet at the Muscoda boat landing at 11:00 a.m. to get organized. The trip will conclude at approximately 4:00 p.m. Bring your own snacks and beverages and small cooler (no glass containers). Registration is required by calling the Riverway Board office at 1-800-221-3792 or (608) 739-3188. Seating is limited. Participants also are welcome to bring their own canoe/kayak.
On Sunday, June 20th, CLL board member Frank Shadewald will host a solstice event and stargazing on Frank’s Hill in Richland County (near Muscoda). Frank will give a guided tour of the mounds on his property at 7:00 p.m. Amateur astronomers will set up telescopes for stargazing. Watch the sunset over the calendar mounds observe planets and stars in a beautiful setting. Reservations are not required.
