Saturday, October 10th – CLL ANNUAL TOUR

To celebrate the Year of the Riverway, in conjunction with the 20 year anniversary of the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway formation, CLL will focus the annual tour on mounds and historic sites in the Riverway.  The tour will include mounds sites not typically on our educational outreach tours and will provide a rare opportunity to tour Tippesaukee, a site on the National Register of Historic Places.  Tippesaukee has been the site of several Native American villages and is the place where the first non-Native American settler in Richland County established a homestead.  The site is still owned by the family of John Coumbe, who settled there in 1838, and is not open to the public expect for special events.

You don’t want to miss this unique opportunity.

The tentative itinerary is as follows:

8:00                Meet at Riverway Board office in Muscoda, 202 N. Wisconsin Ave.

8:15 – 11:45    Tours of area mounds

11:45 – 12:45  Lunch at Amo’s in downtown Muscoda

1:00 - 3:00       Tour of Tippesaukee National Historic Site

3:15 - 4:45       Mound tours

5:00 - ???       Social time at LJ’s Bar & Grill, Muscoda

Reservations are required.  Please call the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board at (608) 739-3188 or 1-800-221-3792 to make your reservation.  Please include the number of people in your party.
